A New Archives Building for Manchester?
Pan-Leisure has been appointed by Manchester City Council to examine the opportunity to have a number of the region's key Archive collections under "one roof". It is felt that the collections (Manchester City Council's Archive and Local Studies, Greater Manchester County Records Office, the Ahmed Iqbal Ullah Race Relations Archive and the Manchester and Lancashire Family History Society) have all to some extent "outgrown" their current locations, and there is considerable merit from both a market and operational perspective to combine them in a "fit for purpose" building.

April 2005 : Pan-Leisure Commissioned in association with Arup by British Waterways to unlock the visitor potential of Foxton Locks, near Market Harbrough
Pan-Leisure Consulting was commissioned as part of a multi-disciplinary team led by Arup to develop a Masterplan and Implementation Strategy for the whole of the Foxton Locks site. The rationale for the Masterplan was three-fold. Namely identifying ways in which a recent decline in visitor numbers can be arrested (and potentially reversed), to guide future development of the site to attract and accommodate increased visitor numbers and assist in development of appropriate planning policies for the site to facilitate delivery. The Masterplan has also addressed issues relating to transport, the environment and sustainability.
Pan-Leisure’s role was to undertake an analysis of ‘ visitor profile and needs’, considering the strategic context, the site and existing uses, local and regional tourism and leisure supply, an overview of demand factors and the concepts and the overall ‘case for development’.
